In-Person Enrollment Help
Not sure how to enroll? Come see us! Our staff will be at the District Office to help you create an account and complete your child's enrollment in person.
Is My Child Eligible?
Your child must be 5 years old on or before September 1, 2026 to enroll in Kindergarten for the 2026–2027 school year.
Children who will turn 5 after September 1 are not yet eligible. Contact us if you have questions about your child's eligibility.
What to Bring to Enrollment
Please bring original documents when possible. Below is what is required for enrollment.
Birth Certificate, Baptismal Certificate, or Passport
Immunization records and other important health records required for your student.
Signed guardianship letter or court documents signed by the judge.
Legal court documents required.
A current, original utility bill or original rental receipt (with manager/owner phone number), plus one of the following:
- -Mortgage booklet, escrow papers, homeowners association receipt, or property tax form
- -Rental agreement and current rent receipt
- -Residence insurance statement
- -Utility bill (Electric, Gas, Trash, or Water)
- -Driver's License
- -Bank Statement
- -Mail addressed to you with a current postmark
- -Notarized letter from owner or renter of your residence + a utility bill in their name (if renting a room)
What Happens After Enrolling?
You'll receive a confirmation that your child has been successfully enrolled in Hermiston School District.
Your child will be assigned to their neighborhood school based on your home address.
Your child may be invited to a brief screening to help staff prepare for their arrival.
You'll receive information about your child's teacher, classroom, and first day details before school begins.
