At Hermiston School District, we believe strong schools are built on strong partnerships between staff, families, and our community. Volunteers play a vital role in supporting student success by sharing their time, skills, and care in a variety of ways from classroom assistance to special events.

How to Get Started

To volunteer or participate in activities such as field trips, you’ll need to complete a Volunteer/Background Check application. This form can be found on this page. The application takes only a few minutes to complete, and you will need to provide your Oregon Driver’s License number.

Processing is handled through the State of Oregon and typically takes about two weeks. We encourage parents and guardians to complete an application early (such as when your child enters kindergarten) so you’re ready to join in when opportunities arise.
