Title IX
The Hermiston School District does not discriminate on the basis of sex and prohibits sex discrimination in any education program or activity that it operates.
Hermiston School District utilizes SafeSchools, an online training and risk management solution, to annually train staff members, manage compliance, and prevent serious safety incidents in the district. Staff members receive training on sexual harassment and hazing harassment, intimidation, bullying, and menacing, among others.
What is Title IX?
No person in the United States shall, on the basis of sex, be excluded from participation in, be denied the benefits of, or be subjected to discrimination under any education program or activity receiving Federal financial assistance.
Reporting
To share information about conduct that may constitute sex discrimination, or to make a complaint, employees, students, parents/guardians, community members, or concerned citizens should promptly contact a Hermiston School District supervisor, administrator, or other district official.
Inquiries about the application of Title IX may be referred to the District’s Title IX Coordinator, the Office for Civil Rights, or both.
