About Our Community

Nestled in the heart of northeastern Oregon, Hermiston is the largest city in eastern Oregon, with a thriving community of over 17,000 residents. Located just south of the Oregon-Washington border, Hermiston is part of the Columbia Basin region, known for its unique geography that supports an extended growing season and a rich diversity of agricultural crops and products.

The Hermiston School District serves a vast area, spanning over 160 square miles, and is deeply connected to the region’s agricultural roots. Beyond agriculture, Hermiston has successfully diversified its economy with robust food processing, cold storage, warehousing, and distribution industries.

With its close proximity to the stunning Columbia River Gorge and the picturesque Blue Mountains, Hermiston is a gateway to a wide range of outdoor activities. It's no wonder that Hermiston is one of Oregon’s fastest-growing and economically vibrant communities.
