The goal of the Hermiston School District Human Resources Department is to serve the needs of current and future employees. At this time, the Hermiston School District employees approximately 500 licensed, classified, administrative, confidential, and other support staff on a regular basis. The human resources department also provides services to the over 100 substitute staff the district has. It is our mission to provide all of our employees with the assistance and support necessary to ensure the best possible learning experience for our students.
To ensure a “premier” educational experience for our students, the Hermiston School District promotes equity and tolerance by embracing the ideals of providing optimum service and support relating to personnel administration and human resource management with care and respect for the dignity of others. Our belief is the service and support we provide enhances the success of the entire school system. We aim to attract and retain the best possible staff members to provide and promote respect for others, tolerance, empathy, and cooperation. As such, District personnel are committed to establishing and maintaining a recruitment pipeline with state and regional institutions of higher education to recruit employees. We also offer a comprehensive teacher mentor program, and continued professional development which maintains a focus on educational best practices, cultural awareness and competence.
