Mark GomolskiThe Hermiston School District welcomes Mr. Mark Gomolski to position #3 of the Hermiston School Board. Mr. Gomolski was elected May 16 as a write in candidate and was officially certified as the winner of the election on Tuesday, May 31. Board member Don Rankin previously held the position and did not seek re-election following twelve years of service.

“Congratulations to Mr. Gomolski, I look forward to working with him as we strive to serve the students of this wonderful community,” said Superintendent of Schools Fred Maiocco. “I applaud Mr. Gomolski’s commitment to public service and his willingness to serve in this important role.”

Mr. Gomolski retired and moved to Hermiston from Chicago. He has been very active in the community. He is a member of the Lady of Angels Church’s Finance Council, Rotary Club, Chamber of Commerce, the Knights of Columbus, Hispanic Advisory Committee, and a cook at the Friday soup kitchen for the Catholic Church. He also ran for City Council in November 2016.
